TMCC High School has 100 open seats. Because of the rigorous academic level, it is required that students meet the following conditional acceptance requirements:

  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • Credit sufficient- no failed classes, core credit classes completed, Algebra 1 or higher, 1 year PE, Computer Lit, and English
  • At least 90% school attendance
  • Demonstration of appropriate self-management behavior
  • All formal acceptances are considered provisional, dependent upon 25-26 school year final grades, credits, attendance, credit accrual, test scores.

TMCC Magnet High School is located in the Washoe County School District in Northern Nevada and serves 250 high-achieving students in grades 10-12. Through a culture of academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and personal responsibility, the school offers a rigorous, college-aligned experience tailored for motivated learners seeking academic challenge and growth. For the past several years, the school has earned a 5-star rating on the Nevada School Performance Framework and has averaged a 100% graduation rate.

A standout feature of TMCC Magnet High School is its dual-enrollment model, which allows students to simultaneously earn high school and college credits: at least 12 college credits in 10th grade and as many as 32 in 12th grade. Up to 60% of students graduate with an associate degree and/or a career and technical certificate. Students take college courses on the TMCC campus, gaining exposure to real-world academic expectations while developing critical thinking, independence, and self-advocacy. A Senior Exit Presentation has graduating students reflect on their academic journey and career goals before a panel of community members, highlighting the school’s commitment to developing well-rounded graduates.

TMCC Magnet High School emphasizes equity and access, providing students with inclusive, individualized support through weekly teacher conferences and Student Success Plans. Small class sizes, support classes, inclusive teaching practices, and a deeply committed staff contribute to a nurturing learning environment where all students, regardless of background or ability, can thrive.

Through a future-focused approach and strong college partnerships, TMCC Magnet High School prepares students for graduation and lifelong success in college, career, and community. The school’s successes are a testament to the intentional practices of the staff and the dedication of this community to making education a priority.
